While in many places October arrives with leaves falling from trees, with brown, yellow or orange tones, with the scent of fireplaces and stews, with coats and boots … and sometimes even gloves. Ibiza lives autumn in a very different way.
The colour of Ibiza at this time of the year is predominantly green, green in all its hues. With the first rains the fields have left their red earth colour until next summer and now delight us with robes of clovers, grass, plants and shrubs in full splendour.
To wander around the island in October is to walk through a giant garden, which has its own life and a heavenly landscape. The beaches spend their sunny days with turquoise water in solitude and being in Ibiza in October transmits its atmosphere of peace and tranquillity diverting glances towards horizons of sea and horizons of life.
The smell you breathe is pure nature, punctuated by the sound of birds and the constant work of insects and other animals that collect the last fruits to take refuge in their dens waiting for the cold winter to come.
It’s still not time for coats and fireplaces in Ibiza, it’s time for beach and sun, time to breathe and enjoy nature, and the sea breeze and my favourite den in Ibiza to which I have to say goodbye until the next season. =)
