Let us resume to the time I arrived to Ibiza, I travelled light and had read something about its people, traditions and history, all of which appealed to me so I had decided to learn about the island first hand.
The first time I explored every inch of the island, I got to know the villages, most of the beaches and coves, traditional restaurants, some families who worked the field, the artisans, the hippy markets, the north, the south , the east and the west, the narrow roads with those wonderful crops and those fields of red earth in summer and green mantle in winter.
I enjoyed a full month, learning a lot from all the people who I found along the way and I discovered a completely different way of life in this island, which made me feel a freedom inside me and an extreme harmony and happiness that I did not feel in any of the other places which, supposedly, had all that I wanted.
I slept in a different place every day, in hotels, hostels, campsites and even the homes of people who kindly invited me to share with them a little of their lives and of mine. And that is how I met the owner of what was to become my favourite corner to retreat and write in Ibiza the following 9 years: Marina Palace.
