We know that the preservation of local nature and wildlife is as important to our guests as it is to us. As our business and properties continue to evolve, a huge part of our considerations for the future is focused on how we can do our part in making our accommodation and hospitality model as sustainable as possible. As we began the extensive refurbishment process of our Ibiza property Can Salia, we ensured that the upgrades would be centered around creating a sustainable, eco-friendly resort that allows our guests to enjoy their Ibiza holiday knowing that their stay has a minimal impact on the place that they love. We continue to learn, and we are dedicated to make further ecologically-minded changes across our portfolio. We are proud to say that our efforts at Can Salia have, so far, been recognised with two sustainability awards from FITUR International Tourism Trade Fair, including the accolade of Knauf's Best Hotel Sustainability Project and an honorary recognition for the best hotel sustainability and rehabilitation project in Spain. Supporting the local community
Ibiza and Tenerife remain two of Spain’s most popular holiday destinations, but, like many other touristic regions, the islands were heavily affected by Covid-19 travel restrictions in recent years. Therefore it is more important to us than ever before to give back to the local community. We do so by working primarily with local suppliers, craftsmen and artisans whenever possible, as well as prioritising island residents when it comes to recruiting staff. We consider Ibiza and Tenerife our homes, and our business partners, collaborators and team members are like family to us.
Looking after our staff
At Intercorp Hotel Group, we believe that it is our team that makes the experience of staying in one of our properties extra special. With more than three decades in the hospitality industry under our belt, many of our staff members have been with us for years and our returning guests are delighted to see them again as they revisit their favourite holiday destinations in Ibiza and Tenerife.
